InactiveGreetings,I am considering starting the DLP program as advertised for $200.00 and have some questions. Besides the eight DVDs that come with the registration fee are there other on-line videos or on-line information available to members of the program? What is the difference between the Long Distance Learning program and the Long Distance Student programs?

InactiveHowdy Chris,The 13 DVD series of the actual Guru Classes is only available to the Distance Learning People, but it is not included in the Registration & set of 8. It is a different set than the 8 DVD Distance Learning Program, although you will see some of the forms and training exercises from the Guru Classes in the DLP. The Guru Classes are un-cut, so there is material there that is available no where else. The set of 13 Guru Classes is $500, which turns out to be $350 with the DLP 30% discount.Peace,Art

InactiveYes, the American and the Malabar branch materials are all included in the Guru Course set of Eight. The two DVDs related to the American branch are Serak and Internal/External have recently been added.Yes again, you can certify in both Malabar and American KunTao Silat or your choice of either. Just so you know, Malabar KunTao Silat requires exceptional physical conditioning and mobility and may not be well suited to those with physical injuries. American KunTao Silat, on the other hand, has a focus on more mature practitioners who almost invariably have chronic injuries that must be factored into a personalized training program highlighting current strengths and skills while addressing the healing of chronic injuries. When the de Thouars Brothers approached Steve to promote their arts, Steve explained to them that their martial arts would only be attractive to that 1% of martial practitioners who REALLY wanted to study a martial art. Most folks just want to look good or get some exercise; and they won't look twice at KunTao Silat. It turns out that 1% of martial practitioners often carry the scars of a lifetime of training complete with injuries that prevent some of the more athletic applications of the Chinese/Indonesian arts. So, the Distance Learning Program is evolving in a manner which addresses the specific needs of that 1% whether they are entering fresh, without injuries, or continuing a lifetime study where the health aspects of the arts may take priority over athletic prowess.Peace,Art

InactiveThat's wonderful news – I have an artificial knee so I'm definitely in the “limited mobility” camp.

InactiveWish I was a computer geek sometimes, because I don't know how to fix such problems; but I'll try to get it figured out ASAP. Meanwhile you can just send the funds to orders@kuntaosilat.com by PayPal and we can get your Guru Course off immediately. I can also send you a PayPal request, either will work just fine.
