Welcome to KunTao Silat ~ the American Martial LifeStyle › Forums › Learning KunTao Silat › Seasoned Practitioners › Forms, what is the proper way?
;DI have just had a truly enjoyable conversation with one of the DistanceLearning People who, like most, have a considerable background in martial endeavor.
Art and Michael, Thanks for posting.
Art and Michael, I'm not sure how to respond point by point, but Tim has certainly made some cogent ones: ??? "Thanks for posting.
I think it was actually SiGung Steve who said that about spending time with the vid — it was in a ng post on how to learn from video, iirc.
;D I'm howling here!
Art and Michael, Thanks for posting.
I read this an had to add to it. Tim you are dead on! There is the difference between the martial "science" and the martial arts. The science part has to be followed to a tee to understand the core and then the art part is our own interpretation of the system. That is why no two fighters are the same. They can train the same thing side by side for years yet they will respond to the same situation in two different ways.
There is something about the "American" part of American KunTao Silat that resonates in such an astounding manner that it is difficult to ignore.
Amen!
