Martial morality?« on: March 04, 2010, 09:04:40 AM » There are standards Sigung Steve sets that are not common in the martial arts in general, but particularly in the "silat" world where treachery abounds and seems to be accepted with a nod and a wink by most of the people who try to learn these arts.
I was wanting to hear other believers thoughts on Mixed Martial Arts. For example, is there anything that the bible teaches that would show that learning martial arts is not the way of Christ? Also, fighting in cage fights. If a Christian wanted to do that and feel they are called to be a witness to that avenue of people and crowd particularly, what would the bible teach to apply to that? Thanks in advance.
Psalms 144 might be of interest to you.A study of David, especially before he became king would also shed some light on your question.I'm not sure that looking for a fight would be considered "Christian" behavior, but doing all for the glory of God could probably be construed to be consistent.Chink!
