I saw some of the discussions of targets in the Ling Sing Toi videos, but they showed a lot more grabbing and then applying pressure with the twin dragons. What are the targets of twin dragon in AKTS that are struck (i.e.: striking with twin dragon). I'd assume throat, eyes, nerve cluster under the bicep ala guntings. Is this correct? Are there others? Is the vagus nerve a high probability strike? Thanks,John

John, While you may be spot on for empty hand, remember this IS a bladed art. Add a knife to the form, or two, and then tell us what you see.Guru Aric

John, the point hitting from Ling Sing Toi is very interesting. I have had this conversation with both Sigung Steve and one of his teachers. The KTS approach is not based on memorizing complex formulas for point-hitting. Rather, it is the intent that matters. Your focused, yes malicious, intention focused on that twin dragon strike. The strikes themselves go to soft targets (obvious), as well as 'nests.' Now that last term is just a name applied to something observed during training, so maybe there is an official term for this, I don't know. But the nest is an area where there the architecture of the body points inward. For sample, run your fingers along the underside of your clavicle from the neck to the shoulder. You will feel your fingers slide not a depression just before the shoulder. This is a nest. The body is full of them. You practice the entries from Ling Sing Toi, and use them in free-flowing sticky practice and you will literally start to feel your twin dragon pulled to the target. You don't need to hunt for it.Finally, having

      Howdy!

Not to resurrect a dead thread, but I also have a question about Ling Sing Toi!

In the only video I have seen of the form (with Guru Ted Garcia), Guru Garcia turns away from the camera during the last section of the form. I recognize he starts with Tiger circles then transitions into Twin Dragon strikes, but what is the last set of movements he is doing? His body obscures his movements, although it sounds like he is slapping/striking his own body in some way.
Is there another video of this form out there from a different angle?

Any and all clarification is appreciated 🙂

This page in the KunTao Silat Guru website appears to have two different versions of Ling Sing Toy ~ perhaps it will answer your question. http://kuntaosilat.guru/GCC/LingSingToy.htm
