All I can say after reading much material is Sigune Gartin is once again showing all parts of being a truth to American Kuntao Silat with His gracious acceptance once again of one of his former instructors.

Hello,While I welcome the opportunity to interact with Uncle Bill, I would caution anyone from making any comments which could be contrued in the wrong way. This represents an opportunity for healing and perhaps increased interaction between the two families. It would be a shame for any comments to be taken the wrong way and result in this failing. With that in mind I would humbly suggest that we leave the past in the past and focus on today and the future. Anything which happened in the past between Uncle Bill and Sigung Steve should be between them and, imho, does not need us to stoke the flames. Having said all of that I wish to extend a Welcome to Uncle Bill and say that I for one am appreciative of the opportunity to obtain answers to questions which I may have for training.

🙂 Welcome Willem, my Brother!I'm glad to see you're here on the American KunTao Silat Forum! As you know, the AKTS Family is spread all over the world and since this will be the last year that you will be teaching, would you do us the favour of listing all your classes, seminars, workshops and get-togethers coming up so that the AKTS Family will have the opportunity to meet and train with you?And also, I know the de Thouars Brothers don't generally get along, but this IS an election year and historically all four of you have put away petty bickering to be united every four years or so; and you said that you were all going to be at the KTS school in Denver, so please include those dates if you would. And more so, it would be great if Brother Victor were to join us here on the AKTS Forum. There are several of his old students among the AKTS Family now and I know they would love to hear from him again. Must admit I'm quite fond of him myself. Paul and Maurice are also welcome. I wish my old Friend, Bill Chang was alive to join us here in unity, but he watches over us from the Great Beyond where we will all meet again one day.May the Creator richly bless you and your Family with Peace, Protection and Prosperity.Your Brother Steve

Sir: I have a question. Is it possible in the future to see some form of weapons applications or drills related to silat, and if possible the jurus in video format?Specifically, the short (arnis/escrima) stick?A yawara palm stick? A kubotan? (of course you could always add okinawan versions of brass knuckles...)A short staff or walking stick?A walking cane? (for me it would be cool to see the typical walking cane with a curved-hooking handle applied to silat, especially the jurus)And last, a long staff as it applies to the jurus? For me personally, I think even short segment videos/dvds on these subjects would create a great demand/interest. Just to even see some freeform applications by Uncle Bill or Sigung Steve would be awesome. Or, make it an assignment for senior students, letting them show how they would apply their understanding of silat to a palm stick, a short stick, short staff, walking stick/cane, or even a long staff.Maybe I'm just thinking out loud to myself, but I think it would be something not only worth watching but also buying as well. A number of exotic chinese weapons, like ermei daggers (similar to double-ended daggers) would make an awesome display when demonstrated by a silat stylist-at so many levels.

Hi Ron,I can probably field that question better than anyone right this moment because I've been dealing with the DVDs for some time. Weapons of KunTao Silat has much of what you are asking about included. The Karambit is used in lieu of a yawara stick, but you get the drift. There is also a full-length DVD on the Karambit by Steve that goes into great detail on the use of palm sized weapons. Chas Clement's Combat Cane has much more on the walking stick applications and in the Guru Class Series with Uncle Bill, I believe it is Class #4 where he demonstrates Escrima Stick applications. Then on the 10th Annual Family Gathering Series #4 Guru Mike Casto does an entire segment on stick applications. So there is a great deal of footage available on everything except the long stick, because it isn't much used in close quarter combat although Uncle Bill gave Steve a six foot long iron wrecking bar to train long stick with. 🙂Perhaps when time permits, I can carve some of those pieces out and offer downloadable MP4s on those subjects.Hope that begins to answer your questions. Maybe others who have been watching the DVDs can give you Title and counter number where it would be easier to find those parts.Peace,Art

Dear Uncle Bill, have you ever gotten into fights that were not pre-arranged, like on the streets or some other random location? If yes, what was your most memorable? Did you ever lose one? If yes, how and why? Thanks for your time, you are a great inspiration!

Every so often Willem tries to track me down for the known pediphile organization known as the Denver Joint Domestic Terrorism Task Force. {Search the term “Tim Walsh + Columbine” and you will understand why the Columbine Massacre happened and a little more research will reveal exactly WHO did all the killing there. Gay Clyman and his queer lover Don Estep have been working hand-in-glove with Willem de Thouars for many years to try to keep me from revealing the Lucifarian pedophile ring operating in Denver, Colorado. The video Willem made for Gay Clyman and Don Estep can be found here. http://willemdethouars.com
