I was browsing Wiktenauer’s directories of medieval combat manuscripts (which contain a variety of dirty clinch work, elbows, knees, trips, low kicks) and decided to look for any similarities to Silat.
From Nicolaes Petter’s famous Dutch wrestling manual, published in 1672:
