It’s been such an amazing experience. Learning KTS by video was great but getting the feeling of it by real Masters changed the entire thing. I’d like to thank Pendekar Steve Gartin for showing me his sensitivity skills and for that extremely interesting chat up there in Thunder Rock!!! Sigung Joe Judt has been so kind with me: sharing a lot of…[Read more]

Actually i just got the chance to train by videos, using the Distance Learning Program but my previous Martial Arts training served me well. I just followed the instructions Pak Steve gives in the videos and paid attention to the way they used to move in the old days. Some movements were quite familiar to me but the legwork..the legwork was the…[Read more]

I’d like to thank Pak Steve for video-recording all the original footage and creating the Distance Learning Program ( a very useful tool for the serious student ); Sigung Aric Fowler for all his suggestions, tips and corrections: his good destructive criticism has been extremely helpful; all my Brothers GM Jonathan Pyndus, Rick Vargas and Larry…[Read more]

That hand posture is a Qígong exercise (known as “Holding the Ball”, “Embracing the Tree”), that teaches a convenient structure for combat applications as well. If you keep your hands at 10:10 (imagine you are facing a clock-face ) and try to maintain a 108° degrees angle at the elbow joint whilst keeping your shoulders relaxed..there you are!!!

I see!!! Ok then: i’ll upload a testing video including Taung Lung Tai form + applications of it, but for sure i’ll study and train Ling Sing Toi and all the Internal/External KunTao forms included in the “New” Program to improve my understanding of Malabar KunTao-Silat. The learning path is a never-ending one!!! Thank you so much for your help…[Read more]

The “problem” with numeration is because i started my KTS journey with the “old” system so my L6MKTST Test was about Pai Yun Form. Now i have to step into Taung Lung Tai.

Thank you so much Pak Steve!!! What i meant with L7MKTST was my next test: the Taung Lung Tai test. So only the Gasshophoper form+applications is required for that test?!

oh ok, i’m planning to join kuntao silat in the future, it’s a great art!.

Joining the Long Distance Learning Program has been the best investment of my whole life. I’d recommend it to anyone seriously interested into Martial Arts!!!

I’m sure about that, i’m a little out of money at this moment, but i’ll join soon.
-
Almost ALL the material is out there for free: on Vimeo, YouTube. According to me, the most of the time, has to be spent training the Basics: stances, postures, basic movements, basic entrances and techniques..the more you train the Basics, the easier Forms and advanced techniques will be..🙏🙏🙏
-
Yes i’ve been training some videos but i’m trying to organize the material to train properly.
-
I’m located in Argentina, is there any training group in South America?
-
According to what i know, there are no active practice groups in south America, but perhaps Pak Steve, Sigung Aric or Sigung Joe know better. My suggestion is to pick up Langkah Nol and practice that form in various way ( holding the stances for 5 minutes each: Sleeping Horse Stance, Tiger Stance, Low Tiger Stance, Dragon’s Stance, King Dragon’s…[Read more]
