Someone once said that one can count the true friends of a lifetime on the fingers of one hand. Chas is certainly one that I count. We became friends through the Kun Lun Pai, before there was any thought of KunTao Silat. Chas and I argued for years over whether it was kuntao or silat and finally agreed to call what we did “KunTao Silat.”
We started promoting the de Thouars Brothers before the inception of KunTao Silat. Randall, Dave and I fought full-contact matches for the international recognition of the Kun Lun Pai while George Morin and Phillip Sailas performed forms that were later incorporated into KunTao Silat.
Chas opened his art studio to us to perform our martial art to the public at no charge and quickly became our most ardent supporter.
When the internet came into being, Chas quickly learned to traverse the world-wide web with a martial acumen and written eloquence that became widely known as “Chasisms” and won the hearts of countless martial artists around the world. Chas is in great degree responsible for the fame and acclaim the de Thouars Brothers, and especially Willem, have enjoyed in recent decades.
Chas traveled with me to knife & gun shows and martial exhibitions for many years and proved to be a true friend at every turn of the road. His exceptional intelligence, eloquence and wide experience made for delightful conversations along the long winding roads of the West.
During my legal odyssey, Chas was a stalwart and trustworthy companion with whom we developed “SilatLaw” that brought the Lucifarian government to its knees and left them no option but to murder me because they could not defeat me in court. Even from prison as a political prisoner, with Chas’ support, the best lawyers could not contend with the quality, timeliness and proper service of my legal process. Chas was a fearless process server ( for those who know what that means ).
All those who practice KunTao Silat probably owe their introduction in some way to Chas Clements. Without his Herculean efforts on rec-martial-arts few internet surfers would ever have found KunTao Silat and without his support and assistance with seminars and videos in the early days few would have understood what they were looking at.
Chas Clements will be missed, but never forgotten. May YHVH richly bless Chas in the Greater Life to which he has departed.

May his memory be a blessing. I still lookup old usenet threads to read what he wrote.
I’m very sorry to hear of his passing.
I hope Chas has peace, and he can relax. Very entertaining fellow, even though i never met him face to face. God Bless his family too.
Ah but what a legacy he has left! His selfless contributions to KunTao Silat will be forever remembered in hearts of such as you my friend.
Well said my friend. Pak Chas will be sorely missed.
